15 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you
received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold
firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance [a] : that Christ died for our
sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third
day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, [b] and then to the
Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the
same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give
yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in
vain. 1 Corinthians 15: 1-7 and 58

Third Annual Pastors and Worker’s Conference in Manila Calvary Church
As we celebrate our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, CMFE-USA wishes all of you a Happy
Easter!
Last March 22 to 26, Manila Calvary Church hosted the third Pastors and Workers Conference.
The theme was Steadfastness in Service. Indeed, CMFE pastors and workers serve our risen
Savior, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords faithfully and lovingly. The conference encouraged
all who attended and filled them with hope. The conference was a time of fellowship and
learning. Pastor Karl Sanchez spoke on Christian leadership and Glorifying God by guiding
others. Lectures and seminars were also given by Pastor Eliseo Guimba and district missionary
Leahsol Siga. The pastors and workers of CMFE are steadfastly pressing on to become more like
Jesus and finish the work of reaching the world.
Last March 2024, the CMFE pastors voted to hold the conference in Manila, the capital of the
Philippines. They wanted to visit Manila Calvary Church, the original congregation of the
Calvary Churches in the Philippines established in the 1940s. Despite the distance from
Mindanao where the CMFE churches are located, the pastors boldly decided to raise the funds
needed to fly to Manila. It would be a yearlong endeavor which required hard work and saving.
Thirty-five pastors and workers attended the conference. They were all very excited to fly for
the first time in their lives and visit the capital city. They were happy to finally see the Manila
Calvary Church and worship there together.
Most of the pastors stayed on for an extra two days to visit some sites of the city. After lunch at
the iconic Aristocrat restaurant, enjoying their famous chicken barbeque, they crossed the street
to walk along Manila Bay to the historic Luneta Park. Luneta is the Central Park of the city of
Manila. It is the largest urban park in the Philippines known for its gardens, art works, musical
dancing fountains and the Rizal Monument. Jose Rizal is the Philippine national hero who is
buried there. Though the mile and half walk was hot and tiring, the pastors really enjoyed the
sightseeing adventure.
The following day, the pastors visited the Mall of Asia, the largest mall in the country and the
Manila Baywalk, a popular seaside promenade with picturesque views of Manila Bay. They were
all exhausted but happy to have seen the city. Many shared their joy when they returned for
dinner. Love gifts were also handed out that last evening.
District Report Highlights
Calinan District, Davao City
District Missionary Christina Tula, who hosted last year’s conference gave the report of her
district activities. We are reminded of how her congregation opened their homes to the pastors
and workers of CMFE last March. Calinan will host again in two years. Pangan Suawan Calvary
Church, though not large, is near a road with public transportation and has a congregation with
open hearts and love for God’s work and His workers.
Calinan district holds many activities including prayers meetings and fasting regularly. They
continue their quarterly children’s feeding program of the poorest kids in their area. It is their
opportunity to preach not just to the children but to the parents as well. They show them the
message of salvation and the Jesus’ love. Last December, the district also hosted a youth camp
and were overjoyed as many children dedicated their lives to Christ.
Davao del Norte District
District Missionary Leahsol Siga happily reported a myriad of church activities. Her district
conducts daily devotions, weekly bible study and sharing, prayer meetings and fasting every
Wednesday, Women’s and Men’s fellowship and community outreach. Their church has several
volunteers which help their communities with whatever is needed, including construction and
repairs to households.
Moreover, the Davao del Norte District churches participate in Church Pulpit Exchanges where
the pastors rotate to visit and preach in other churches. District Missionary Siga also visited other
more remote districts to fellowship and check up on their wellbeing in these volatile times. She
traveled to the Tiboli and Maasim districts last December. She described the challenges of the
visits and having to walk several miles on rough unpaved paths to reach some of the churches in
both districts. She asks for prayer for health and safety as she visits the other districts.
Kiamba District 1
Pastor Samuel Leng of Macnit Calvary Church praised God for the opportunity to attend the
conference. He reported that his church started its work on concrete flooring and walls. They
also hold prayer meetings at church and in the homes of the members. There is power as church
members pray gather together and pray regularly in their homes. In 1 John 5:14, the bible says
that “And this is the boldness we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He
hears us.” Jesus tells us that with the power of the Holy Spirit, we can do great things. Pastor
Leng was also so grateful for the CMFE gift which his church used to buy construction
materials, chairs and curtains.
Maasim District 2 East
District Missionary Eliseo Guimba reported on the many activities of the district including
prayer meetings and evangelistic crusades. Also, they too participate in the exchange of pastors.
Leahsol Siga visited and spoke in some of the district churches. Pastor Guimba also showed off
pictures of Tamneg Calvary Church. They have expanded the size of their church to
accommodate their growing numbers. CMFE also helped them purchase new seats for their
members.
In Maasim District the churches are now built with steel and concrete. All construction work is
done by volunteers. Pastor John Mark Guimba repeated that he got certified as a welder to be of
service to all the district churches that need welding of the steel that is placed in the concrete
structures. All the resources the churches raise go to purchasing the building materials needed.
The district also reported that they had 26 graduates of their bible training school led by Pastor
Mario Guimba. Over 60 students are currently enrolled. Some of the CMFE churches and pastors
have sent their young people to learn and commissioned into God’s service. Pastor Suyan of
Kiamba District sent six of his sons to the bible training school and are now who are now pastors
and church workers themselves.
Lam’Alit Calvary Church again hosted a summer camp. Many of the children gave and
dedicated their lives to our Savior Jesus Christ. They learned about the bible and God’s love for
them. The children also experienced the joy and love of Christian mentors.
Maguindanao District
Pastor Claudio’s district came to the conference with seven of the nine district pastors. They took
many months to raise the funds by working in the copra production. Copra is dried coconut meat
used for coconut oil production. It is hard labor, but they persevered and were overjoyed at the
opportunity to travel to the Philippine capital city. They were honored to finally visit Manila
Calvary Church and to fellowship with the CMFE pastors. They only spent half a day seeing the
city. They were the last to arrive and first to leave. Maguindanao district is the farthest and the
most remote. Their airline tickets were the most expensive. But the pastors felt it honor to attend
the conference.
Pastor Claudio is a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus. His district continues their church activities
which include fasting and prayer meetings once a week and evangelism. He asked for prayers
for the health and safety of the pastors and congregations. Currently, insurgents are attacking the
governor of Maguindanao. They constant attacks are affecting the civilian population of their
region and Christian churches.
T’boli District 1
The district started a Bible Training School with five students who wanted to serve God. The
district still needs pastors and workers. The district’s location in Maitum, South Cotabato is very
remote and difficult to reach.
T’boli District 2
District missionary pastor Titing Legal expressed his joy and excitement at being able to attend
the conference. He came with three other pastors from his district. His district also has a large
number of activities including healing prayer meetings and construction projects. Pastor Legal
shared the beautiful pictures of his district churches. Their churches have beautiful facades as
well as concrete and steel walls and floors. His church, Kule Calvary Church, has an electric
guitar and a drum set in their band. He explained that two of his daughters are worship leaders.
Pastor Legal asks for prayer for the health of all the pastors. They ask for guidance and wisdom
as they do God’s work. They also pray that they will be able to place tiles on their floors and
continue their church expansion. His congregation hosts evangelist crusades in their community
facilities. The local government leaders allow them to use the community park to hold the
crusades. Last summer they had 600 people in attendance. He praised God.
Pastor Legal also showed pictures of his home and the homes in their community. They were
humble dwellings, most with dirt floors. He wanted to contrast their church building and how the
church members have placed God first. The love God and they are His faithful servants.
Maasim District West 2
Pastor Gansing reported for the district. They are also active and steadfastly serving. They also
have many activities. The ask for prayer for a cell phone and new chairs for their growing
numbers.
